In French 1 the students did a reading where there was someone named "Hughes". I was demonstrating the French pronunciation for them which is something like "Ewg". This prompted the following response:
Ewg?! That sounds like a DEMON!
I had never viewed that name in such a way before but now I don't know if I can trust anyone named Hughes.
