I had a student in the hall, preparing for an oral exam he had missed. The students had recently done presentations on famous French people and their exam was related to these presentations. I enter the hallway:

Me: Are you ready to go?

Student: How many homosexual lovers would you say I’ve had?

Me: [Stunned silence. I look down at paper to see that student will be talking about Yves Saint Laurent for his exam. What a relief!] I have no idea.
